Nature is full of incredible physics phenomena that we want to study. Unfortunately, nature doesn’t speak English, so we must encode messages of nature into experimental data and subsequently decode them to unlock new physics and propel fundamental scientific understanding forward. Aobo Li’s research uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a tool to decode these data from nature. Aobo Li’s research utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a powerful tool to decipher these natural data. His research group specializes in two specific areas of physics: neutrinos and dark matter. His interest in machine learning spans self-supervised learning, time series analysis, and geometric deep learning. These algorithms help them extract as much information as possible from their detectors to study neutrinos and dark matter. Aobo Li has earned recognition through several awards, including APS Dissertation Award in Nuclear Physics, Postdoc Award of Research Excellence and MLST Paper Award. Aobi Li is an Assistant Professor with the departments of Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute and Physics.
