Visiting scholars arrive to HDSI


The Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute (HDSI) welcomes the arrival of esteemed scholars from across the nation. The invited faculty will join HDSI for the short-term and will be working collaboratively on data-science related research across campus as well as engaging in various academic activities, ultimately enriching the Institute’s intellectual research and emerging programs.


Scholar: Adjunct Full Professor Robert Glushko ’79 PhD

Institution: University of California Berkeley

Activities at HDSI: Professor Glushko will be engaging in collaborative research between HDSI, Cognitive Science and the Design Lab. He will also be teaching a course on how sensemaking and organizing can enable us to be creative.


Scholar: Professor Madhusudan Parthasarathy, PhD

Institution: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Activities at HDSI: Professor Parthasarathy will work closely with HDSI and Computer Science & Engineering faculty on research related to programming models for CPS/iOT. He will also mentor a capstone project and participate in HDSI Friday faculty mixers.
