Please join us in congratulating Professor Kim Prather on her election to the American Philosophical Society, a rarefied field of scholars and a high honor. She is among the 37 new members, a first from UC San Diego since 2010. Prather, a distinguished professor of SIO and Chemistry/Biochemistry, is also a fellow of both NAE and NAS. Her work on aerosols and atmospheric chemistry has had a significant impact both on the scientific community as well as on public awareness as the airborne spread of Covid-19 continues to affect our daily lives.

Professor Prather has been a key advisor to HDSI through its formative years and currently serves on the joint faculty recruiting committee with HDSI and SIO.
